A. Chinese New Year
1. A huge financial success, the CNY event grossed $20,000
2. Regions broke records for attendance at their events
3. FCC LI raised more than $2,000 for Orphanage Assistance
B. FCC will issue a certificate of thanks to FCC New England for
Their work on the Learning Disabilities issue of the newsletter, which received a largely positive reaction from
NY members
C. 2005 Budget- Tim
1. Our profit of $13,700 from Chinese New Year was more than Culture Day made last year
2. With the budget we have, we will end with a
deficit of $28, 175
3. We project 2,000 members at the end of the year
4. Not a lot of money is coming in to cover rising expenses
5. Although the budget is based on a worst case scenario, we should be extremely cautious
D. Orphanage Assistance- Aileen
1. OA has $196,500 on deposit, although some belongs to FCC NE
2. $12,000 was also donated in memory of Kate Carlson
3. This year’s request is similar to last years
4. The proposal was unanimously approved
E. Upcoming Evnets
1. Another meeting with the girls of Forest Hills High School
2. Junie B. Jones benefit for Kate Carlson Fund
3. April 16, Lets Get Real film on teasing at Imaginasian
4. Culture Day
-The theme is Telling Stories; Power and Magic in tales from China
-Working on food issue, probably will be catered
-Issues arising from too many dancers
-Prices stand at $30/$15 for adults and kids
-Tim gave a 2 week deadline for the mailing
5. Conference on GLBT adoption a NY Law School, info to

F. Newsletter- Learning Disability Issue
1. Extremely positive response from membership
2. Follow up with NY resources will appear in the next issue
3. Amanda, be careful on pushing LD too hard
4. Many feel tackling this topic shows FCC isn’t adverse to facing real issues in the community
5. David assured everyone that this would be a long term
project, with attention given to LD and other issues
6. The opening of Parent Support Groups was suggested
