Amy Klatzkin volunteered to edit
Will be smaller with more nationally relevant information
Participating chapters will contribute to the cost
Needs critical mass to make it worthwhile- NE, NY, SF constitute 4,000 readers
Other regions who joined in National Appeal showing interest
Will be an excellent way to push unity between chapters
Good way to push CIC
Will be free to FCCNY Members
Treasurer’s Report- Ron Tralle
Ending the year with a surplus of $12-13,000
Recommends raising membership fee for next year
Haven’t raised fee since 1998
Costs are increasing
Elizabeth Mao: Moves to raise membership fee to $35 / Ross Lewis: Second
Vote: All in favor.
Connie Clemmons proposal regarding our relationship with vendors
Policy needed regarding our links to vendors
Issues of commercialism vs. potential revenue
Includes issues of internal advertising (listserve)
Changes nature of the organization
Already have some ties to Chinasprout and Adoptive Families
Barry will get legal language about ties for 501c3s.
Several options to consider
Making Chinasprout our store- selling products through them
Making limited links to certain stores for fundraising at certain times
Featuring certain vendors monthly
Barry, Marylou and Ross will report on this issue at the next meeting
Upcoming Events
Adoption Awards- Marylou Cooper Green
FCC SF has won the Congressional Adoption Award, and invited NE and NY to join them at the awards dinner
We should present ourselves as candidates for next year
Yale Siblings Program- Liz Mao
Yale Chinese/Taiwanese Students Association setting up big siblings program
Looking for 30 Kids
Last year very successful
Should consider setting something similar with Columbia or China Institute Young Associates
Ross will choose Hall of Science event date from first two weekends in November

Possibly contact the Anti-Defamation League

Will sell for $125 to benefit CIC

Closing of show will be a charitable event

Consider encouraging more parents to take on this kind of project

Should be renegotiated with CIC involvement and Regions in mind

Planning to simplify appeal- less text, less confusing

The National Appeal brochure without cover letter becomes our appeal
