therapist recommendation in Brooklyn <by amy 6/29/2012> (3 replys)

I'm looking for some names of good therapists for my teen. I'd like someone who is knowledgeably about children who were internationally adopted and had orphanage experiences. It would be great if the therapist worked in the Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope area and ideally Asian. Please e mail me at ammobi@aol.com. Thanks.

Recognition of Foreign birth <by Betsy 5/15/2012> (0 replys)

I adopted my daughter nearly 9 years ago and recently moved to NYC. I have never done a readoption, but understand that it is possible to do a simpler recognition of foreign birth in NYC. Where do I get the forms, and to whom to I submit them?

Caregiver Looking for Full-time Position <by Amy Appelbaum 4/4/2012> (0 replys)
My daughter's former caregiver, Barbara Joseph, is looking for a full time position in Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, or surrounding areas. Barbara began working with us when Molly was a year old and continued with us until Molly was four and began going to school full-time. I highly recommend Barbara. She is warm, kind, energetic, and has excellent judgment. I was impressed with the caregivers whom Barbara befriended. She and the other women formed a playgroup for the little girls whom they took care of and the girls still play together regularly. Other parents, and even neighbors in our building, often commented to me about how well Barbara cared for Molly. Barbara has been a caregiver for many years and is great at helping new parents along but also completely respectful of how the parents want things done. She has worked in a number of areas in Brooklyn and is terrific at taking advantage of everything that a neighborhood has to offer. She has lots of experience with babies and toddlers as well as with school age kids. Two of her last three positions have been with FCC families. You can contact Barbara directly or you can contact me if you have any questions. Barbara's phone numbers are 718-856-7904 (home) and 917-514-2191 (cell).
