Ring in the Year of the Tiger with art! Join CMA for a special celebration weekend of Chinese arts and culture. In our 2nd annual Lunar New Year Family Festivla, visitors will explore both ancient and modern Chinese art, music, dance and theater. The weekend-long festival will feature guest artists, performances and workshops.
On Sunday February 7th, events will take place throughout the day at both CMA and the Museum of Chinese in America, located 1 block away. Purchase admission here and you will receive 50% off admission at MOCA.

• Columbia Chinese Yo-Yo troupe will perform and hold workshops between 12:30-2:30
• Artist Peter Yip will teach you how to silkscreen and create your own tiger puppet using fabric and paint. Two sessions: 12-1:30pm and 2:00-3:30pm ($5 material per child fee in addition to admission, pre registration required please contact Claire Marcus, cmarcus@cmany.org, to register)
• Kam Mak will host a storytelling and art workshop at 4:00 and 4:30
• Workshops exploring the Year of the Tiger and traditional Chinese art forms with CMA teaching artists- Ongoing from 12-5pm

The inaugural theme is “Chinatown, New York City,” which serves to emphasize the vital role that Chinatown plays in the diversity, culture and economy of the city.
